SolGold -( LSE&TSX -SOLG, OTC-SLGGF) is the largest and most active concession holder in Ecuador with a 3250 square kilometer land package. It has 72 sites of which 11 are world class copper and gold deposits. Ecuador has recently adopted a more favorable attitude toward the mining industry. SolGold employs a staff of over 400 and at least 90% are Ecuadorean. The Alpala deposit in the Cascabel concession is the Company's main focus. It is located in the northern section of the Andean Copper Belt, approximately three hours north of Quito. The site is, close to water, power supply and Pacific ports. The initial Mineral Resource Estimate for Alpala released in January 2018 indicated 5.2 million tons of copper and 12.6 million ounces of gold. BHP has recently taken a 6% stake in the Company and is helping guide SolGold's exploration activities in other areas such as Guyana. See for more information.
